Terms of Service

1. Agreement
These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your access to and use of LitReview AI at https://www.literaturereview.ai(the "Service"). By using the Service, you agree to these Terms and our Privacy Policy and Acceptable Use Policy.
2. The Service
LitReview AI is a software-as-a-service (SaaS) workflow for researchers. You upload PDFs you already selected, generate an evidence table, thematic outline, and cited draft, and verify citations against your sources before export. The Service is an assistive research tool — not a ghostwriting, homework, or essay-mill service.
You remain the author of any output. You are solely responsible for verifying citations, meeting your institution's academic integrity rules, and any submission or publication.
3. Accounts
You may sign in with Google via our authentication provider (Supabase). You must provide accurate information and keep your account secure. You are responsible for activity under your account.
4. Plans and pricing
Current paid plans (USD, as shown on our Pricing page):
- Pro Monthly — $29/month (subscription)
- Pro Yearly — $249/year (subscription)
- 2-Project Pass — $29 one-time (2 projects, 50 shared synthesis credits)
Prices may change for new purchases; we will update the Pricing page. Free trial limits apply as described on the site.
5. Payments (Creem)
Paid plans are sold by Creem, our Merchant of Record. Creem processes payments, taxes, and receipts. Your card statement may show CREEM.IO or similar. We do not store full payment card details.
Subscriptions renew automatically each billing period until canceled. One-time purchases grant the entitlements described at checkout.
6. Cancellations
You may cancel a Pro subscription at any time:
- Creem Customer Portal — use the link in your Creem receipt email, or visit https://www.creem.io/my-orders and sign in with your purchase email.
- Email us at support@literaturereview.ai from your account email and we will help within 3 business days.
After cancellation, you keep access until the end of the current paid period. One-time project passes are not subscriptions and do not auto-renew.
7. Refunds
Because the Service delivers digital access immediately, refunds are limited. Contact support@literaturereview.ai within 14 days of purchase if you believe you were charged in error or the Service was unavailable. We and Creem may approve refunds at our discretion in line with applicable law and Creem policies. Abuse of refund requests may result in account suspension.
8. Acceptable use
You must follow our Acceptable Use Policy. In summary: do not use the Service for academic dishonesty, plagiarism, generating content without proper attribution, or any unlawful purpose.
9. Your content
You retain ownership of PDFs and research materials you upload. You grant us a limited license to process that content solely to provide the Service (e.g., parsing, AI synthesis, storage during your project). See our Privacy Policy for retention and deletion.
10. Disclaimers
The Service and AI outputs are provided "as is." We do not guarantee accuracy, completeness, or fitness for a particular purpose. AI may produce errors — always verify claims and citations against original sources.
11. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, LitReview AI and its operators shall not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for academic, professional, or reputational harm arising from your use of the Service or reliance on AI-generated content.
12. Changes
We may update these Terms. We will post the new date at the top of this page. Continued use after changes constitutes acceptance.
